The Paul Harris Fellowship Award is one of the highest honours that can bestowed upon a Rotarian in recognition of their outstanding contributions, exemplifying the highest ideal in Rotary in placing “SERVICE ABOVE SELF.”
We in the Rotary Club of Camberley were delighted to present this fellowship award to Roy Devereux for his outstanding contributions to not only our club but also to the District organisation.
Roy joined Rotary in 1986. He held the office of Secretary for several years, has held the chairmanship of most committees and was our President in 1996.
Perhaps one of Roy's greatest contributions to Rotary was his editorship of the District Magazine 'Roundabout' which he finally relinquished this year.
Roy has many skills and talents. He is a freelance writer for magazines specialising in leisure features; has held the unoffical position as 'club photographer' for many years; lectures at Writer's Summer Schools on creative writing; is an authority on Ancestral Research regularly contributing to 'Your Family Tree' magazine.
The Camberley Club is honoured to have such a worthy Rotarian numbered amongst our members.
