RECORD NUMBER OF PARCELS DELIVERED BY ROTARY

Every Christmas since The Rotary Club of Camberley was formed in 1945, members have delivered Christmas parcels for those in need in the Borough.

This year all records were broken when the Club delivered 173 parcels to families, couples and singles of all ages, who, it was determined, would benefit from a little extra Christmas cheer.

The food to make up the parcels came from items collected from members of the public at a collection in November at The Meadows, from food and monies raised by Collingwood College, from a collection they made in the Town Centre and from money donated to Surrey Heath Voluntary Services by Eli Lilley and Johnsons.

Derek Dearmer the Rotary Club PRO said, “We would like to express our thanks for the efforts and work put into the exercise by the pupils of Collingwood College, to Chris Furneaux and her team at SHVS for not only providing valuable assistance to us, but also to Lions and Homestart, who benefited from additional parcels and for the generosity shown by the two companies. It really shows how much can be achieved when charities, schools and industry work together for the benefit of those who need a little help."

The Rotary Club would like to take the opportunity of wishing everyone living or working in Surrey Heath a Happy and Peaceful Christmas and a Healthy New Year.
