The Rotary Art Competition creates a unique opportunity for young local artists from Camberley’s comprehensive schools to display their work for one week at a public exhibition in Camberley. This year the exhibition of work was held at High Cross Church in the centre of Camberley. The schools taking part in the competition were Collingwood, King's International & Tomlinscote
There are four categories within the competition: Art Keystage 3, Keystage 4, Keystage 5 and Photography. The judges this year were Rosemarie de Goede and Laurie Clarke for the Paintings and Alan Meeks for Photography.
Whilst all entries are independently assessed by practising artists and the best in each of the four categories chosen, it is the opportunity for young artists to take part, exhibit and learn by experience that makes this very popular event so worthwhile.
The Art Competition normally takes place in October/November each year and is organised in close collaboration with the Schools. It is a very important part of the Rotary Club of Camberley‘s Youth Opportunities Programme.
